The 2022 Porsche Macan delivers on the Porsche nameplate, as a performance-based SUV with the power, styling, and tech that drivers expect. The Macan comes in three trims, with a new one on the way. It comes standard with all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission.

Buyers who want more under the hood can choose the Macan S with a 2.9-liter V6 with twin-turbocharging. This engine provides 375 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. It also has the seven-speed transmission but adds the Porsche Active Suspension Management system and upgraded brakes.

The top trim is the Macan GTS. Porsche outfits it with a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 but adds more sport tuning to achieve 434 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. This trim has Adaptive Air Suspension and a Sport Exhaust.

The Macan is an SUV, but it doesn’t drive like an SUV. It offers serious speed off the line and a competent ride with confident and controlled steering. It takes bumps with ease, making it a pleasant ride for drivers who want a Porsche as a daily driver with room for five and plenty of gear.

Driver-Assistive Features

Most of the driver-assistive features on the Macan are available features. The only standard driver-assistive features are a Rearview Camera, ParkAssist Front and Rear with Reversing Camera, and Lane Departure Warning. Buyers can add several features, like Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Change Assist, Surround-View Parking Camera, and Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist.

Porsche includes Porsche Hill Control, Auto-Dimming Interior and Exterior Mirrors, and Porsche Entry and Drive Systems for additional safety.

Filled with Infotainment Tech

Porsche loads the 2022 Macan with several high-tech infotainment features. The standard features include a 10.9-inch infotainment screen with Navigation, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth, and Wireless Apple CarPlay. The audio system has ten speakers and a pair of USB ports. Drivers can also subscribe to a Wi-Fi hotspot. Upgrades include Wireless Device Charging, a 14-speaker Bose Audio System, and a 16-speaker Burmester Audio System.

The Porsche Communication Management system runs the navigation system and audio interfaces with a convenient voice control system, while the Connect Plus offers Porsche Car Connect with several services like wireless internet access and an LTE SIM card reader.

The standard instrument cluster includes a high-resolution 4.8-inch color display with information about the PDK gears, the external temperature, fuel amounts, and dash warning lights.

Luxurious and Sporty Interior and Exterior Styling

The Porsche Macan is a crossover SUV with sports car styling. On the inside, the Macan trim has seats trimmed in partial leather and Sport-Tex. The front seats have eight-way power adjustability and heat, while the rear seats have 40/20/40 folding. The Macan S has leather seats, while the GTS has leather sport seats. Interior comfort features include a three-zone climate control system and a particulate-pollen carbon cabin filter.

The Porsche Macan interior styling upgrades include adaptive front seats with ventilation and heat, a heated steering wheel, and heated rear seats. Buyers can also add a panoramic sunroof.

On the outside, Porsche updated the front fascia and both bumpers. The automaker also upgraded the wheels, side blades, and rear diffuser with an LED light strip. The Macan comes with 19-inch wheels, while the Macan S and GTS trims have 20-inch and 21-inch wheels, respectively.
